Jennifer Hanchey is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University, where she specialized in trauma-informed care.
Jennifer’s life changed in 2009 when she adopted her daughter from China. What followed was a transformational period of personal growth during which time Jen turned to counseling for help. Through that experience she learned that consistent emotional attunement can, indeed, heal deep wounds. Jen then returned to school to become a counselor for others.
As an intensively trained therapist in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFCT) for Couples, Jennifer finds great joy in helping couples develop a closer bond than they’ve ever experienced. She sees how we all have an innate need for a safe other who will predictably come when we are hurting. She understands that we never outgrow our need for human connection and responsive care.
Jennifer is additionally certified as Prepare/Enrich Premarital Counselor and a Positive Discipline Educator.
She affirms all people, regardless of race and ethnicity, gender, sexuality, ability, religion, and social class.
